Video walls, interactive projection, through-glass surfaces, museums and other large-format installations from 1.5 m and above.
uRAD Touch Wall: LiDAR multi-touch sensor
for large interactive surfaces
uRAD Touch Wall adds touch interaction to video walls, projected surfaces, glass and LED walls when a conventional touch display is no longer practical because of size, maintenance, physical exposure or total integration cost.
Built for AV integrators, engineering teams, interactive museums, retail technology projects and large-format installations that need dedicated LiDAR hardware for interactive deployments.
Small kiosks, signature workflows, fine handwriting or interfaces that require millimetre-level precision.
Installation conditions and operating limits
Physical and hardware requirements that help ensure reliable performance and usable accuracy in a real installation.
Best-fit conditions
- Interactive surface larger than 1.5 metres in at least one dimension.
- A large touch display is impractical because of cost, logistics or physical constraints.
- Visual display system already defined as a separate layer.
- Environments that require IP65/IP67 protection, outdoor use or resistance to condensation.
- Software architecture ready for TUIO, HID or API REST integration.
Critical constraints
- Use cases that need millimetre-level precision, such as handwriting, signature capture or detailed drawing.
- Small-format installations below 60 × 60 cm.
- Closed legacy software environments with no support for mouse events or TUIO.
If you already know the surface, software stack and approximate size, we can quickly tell you whether uRAD Touch Wall fits the project.
Request a Technical EvaluationWhy this sensor fits better than an integrated touch display
Touch Wall solves projects where an integrated touch display stops being practical because of format, maintenance, physical protection or deployment complexity.
-
Large-format interaction with less peripheral hardware One sensor covers wide interactive areas without custom infrared frames or oversized touch glass.
-
Straightforward integration with existing software The included processing layer exposes TUIO, HID and API REST output for standard integrations or custom builds.
-
Built for installation sites, outdoor use and retail windows Industrial housing, IP65/IP67 protection and a Class 1 laser emitter for demanding environments and continuous operation.
How uRAD Touch Wall is installed and integrated
LiDAR scanning hardware and processing software designed to enable multi-touch interaction in decoupled architectures where sensing and visual output are handled separately.
uRAD Touch Wall is a compact LiDAR device that projects a scanning curtain parallel to almost any surface. When a hand or object interrupts the beam, the included processing software calculates the coordinate and sends it to the control system with ±2 cm accuracy.
Its decoupled design allows mounting on ceiling, floor or wall, which makes it easier to integrate into interactive surface projects where an integrated touch display is not viable because of weight, size, maintenance or heavy-use exposure.

Telesonic transforms education with interactive classrooms powered by uRAD Touch Wall
The challenge: Modernise infrastructure in schools and vocational training centres using interactive projection environments and large collaborative classrooms, while avoiding the cost and size limits of traditional touch displays.
The integrated solution: Standardized deployment of the uRAD Touch Wall LiDAR sensor. A robust, decoupled hardware architecture that turns any projection wall into a collaborative touch canvas, enabling direct interaction with applications and simulators.
- Large-format interactive walls with positional accuracy suitable for multi-user interaction.
- Multi-user interaction, up to 8 pointers, and real-time collaboration.
- Fast installation without infrared frames or large interactive glass panels.
Why integrate a LiDAR sensor into your projects
Clear reasons technical teams choose this hardware to solve real physical constraints on site.
With 276° coverage and up to 25 m range, one device adds touch to video walls, projected walls and other multi-metre surfaces while reducing peripheral hardware and points of failure.
Works with common industry protocols without depending on proprietary drivers or a closed software platform.
Its compact design simplifies mounting on ceiling, wall or technical floor without building a touch frame around the surface.
Sealed aluminium alloy housing built for shop windows, outdoor use and demanding environments with continuous operation.

Turn any projection into a touch surface
uRAD Touch Wall lets integrators add interaction to projector, projection-mapping and video wall installations without relying on oversized touch displays. It integrates through HID or TUIO and makes it easier to build interactive solutions on walls, glass, stretched surfaces or existing installations.
Interactive shop windows without touching the glass
A strong fit for retail and digital signage integrators. The sensor is installed inside the window and enables interactive experiences from outside, avoiding touch foils, capacitive films or exposed components affected by humidity, temperature and vandalism.
Immersive installations for museums and exhibitions
Ideal for integrators building projects in museums, interpretation centres, exhibitions and cultural spaces. It adds touch to large-format surfaces, supports multi-user experiences and keeps the technology hidden in ceilings, frames or architectural elements.
Interaction on video walls and corporate rooms
A simple way to add touch control to LED video walls, meeting rooms, showrooms, control centres and corporate environments. Integrators can preserve the project aesthetics without adding visible infrared frames or replacing the installed display.
Robust interaction for outdoor and public spaces
Designed for demanding integrations in totems, urban signage, theme parks and outdoor installations. Because the display surface is not touched directly, front-surface wear is reduced and the solution stays more resilient under heavy use.
